Fountain of Youth

Did you know that there is a Fountain of Youth in Austria?

Ancient people groups including the Celts discovered relief from their gout there. They entered the waters crippled and came out with their youth restored.

Roman soldiers came and saw their potentially life threatening wounds heal with astonishing speed.

During the Middle Ages (about 1200) the therapeutic effect of Neydharting Moor was “officially” known. There is a “moswisen, moorbach…von einer wisn bey dem prunn und der Padstuben…” ( a Moor ground near the fountain and the bath huts…) says Abbot Thomas von Lambach 1364. This is the first written testimony of an existing Bath – Spa in Neydharting. The medieval Bath tub which was found in 1968 is the oldest Spa existing in the world.

The physician of Nature and theologian Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, called PARACELSUS was in Neydharting and writes about 1500, that he seems to have found the “Quinta Essentia” in a “gemös” (Moor) near “Veste Neydhärding”.

It is written that about 1582 many sick people came to the “fountain of youth” at Neydharting and were “filled with magic power”.

Louis XIV, Napoleon and Josephine all became Moor devotees, indulging in its precious gifts. Neydharting was quite famous in the Habsburg Monarchy, and many members of the Court visited the Spa frequently.

More recently there has been a healing spa there. Originally visited by Napoleon, it was purchased in 1945 for scientific research. At that time, the spa had 8 bedrooms. Today it has over 400 rooms and is booked out 2 years ahead. Nine International Scientific Congresses have concluded that the Neydharting Moor is the only therapeutic medicinal moor. Treatments there are available on the government health care systems of Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland.

Today, you too can enjoy the benefits of the Moor by using the world-famous range of Moor products.  The Moorlife range of products can be purchased from IC Sports Therapies, either at the Clinic or from our on-line store. Our special Moor Pack is now available at a discounted price as a Pre-Christmas Special for you.

Moor Bath

Relaxing in Moor Bath

Moor Bath

Here, just as Nature intended, is the amazing Moorlife Bath. Moorlife is a herbal remedy that will hydrate, soothe, disinfect, rejuvenate and soften the dermal layers of your skin.
Scientific investigation has revealed that a large number of organic compounds and trace elements in the Moor are in perfect balance, and created with a molecular weight so low that they can actually penetrate the skin to nourish, rejuvenate, and condition the tissue below the surface.
In its purest form, the Moor Bath is the primary component of treatment at the Neydharting Spa in Austria. The Bath, the Drink and Mask are all key elements in the Spa. So effective is the Moor, that several Moor products are featured on the National Health rebate lists of some European countries.

Uses

Use as a recovery tool after runs, to draw toxins out through the skin and to relax muscles.
Moor Bath is wonderful after exercise, exposure to sun, and for just plain relaxing… It can also be used as a body mask, and as a poultice or wrap.

Directions

Add the contents of a 200ml bottle to a warm (39º) bath and mix well. Soak yourself in it for 20-30 minutes. Do not use soap in Moor Bath, or rinse. Wrap your body in a towel, robe or sheet, and rest for at least 20-30 minutes. The surface effect on skin continues for 24 hours. Bath can be re-heated and does not stain tub, body or clothing. After it cools it is an ideal tonic for pets, and is great on the garden.
