Techniques

Techniques consist of:
Effleurage – derived from the French word effleurer meaning “gentle pressure”. It consists of smooth flowing and continuous long gliding strokes to warm up the muscle tissue and enhance the relaxation experience.
Petrissage – derived from the French word “petrir” meaning to knead. Kneading, lifting & rolling techniques are used to help improve muscle blood circulation, increase muscle tone & deep muscle relaxation.
Friction – circular and cross fibre friction movements help to increase blood flow and tissue mobility.
Tapotement – repeated rhythmical percussion movements to the superficial tissue. The brisk movements stimulate the nerve endings which produce tiny muscular contractions, resulting in an overall increase in muscle tone. Techniques such as hacking, pummelling & cupping are used.

Jason was very friendly, knowledgeable and had an understanding of the time constraints necessary for returning to sport and work after injury. Best of all the treatment and rehabilitation suggested by Jason cured the shoulder injury.

Lisa has an incredible knowledge of body mechanics.

Lisa has an incredible knowledge of body mechanics. I look forward to her massage therapy each time I visit. I have had hundred’s of massages in the past but feel that Lisa is the best at identifying the problem areas, and then working to fix them. I am a full-time nurse, on my feet all day, and see my time with Lisa as an investment, not only in my health and well-being, but in the longevity of my career. I highly recommend her.

Back to my best

I had injured my hamstring playing soccer, and was definitely a little distraught thinking of the games I will be missing as a result. I went to see Nicki thanks to a beaming recommendation from a friend and although I walked in with a heavy heart, I left feeling as light as a feather bursting with excitement to play again. That same day I ended up training with my team without any problems whatsoever. I honestly have no words to describe it other than simply magic.
