Join with us as we welcome Lanii Strong to the team at IC Sports Therapies, as a new trainee Massage Therapist!
Lanii is currently studying a Diploma of Remedial Massage and hopes to further her study by practicing with the team at IC Sports Therapies. She has a strong passion for sport, particularly touch football and soccer. She plans to enter into sports-specific massage as her career progresses. Lanii can practice Swedish Relaxation Massage efficiently as she is studying for her diploma, and hopes to help people manage any pain or stresses in their lives.
Lanii is no longer with IC Sports Therapies, and we wish her well in her future.
I am a mother of two teenage children. I understand the constant struggle to have balance in our lives. Being there for your family, providing for your family, trying to stay fit and healthy. When the stresses in life start to impact our physical and mental wellbeing we start to feel overwhelmed and our body reacts.
I can help you regain balance in your life. Whether you are sitting at a desk all day, training for a sporting team, recovering from injury, renovating the house and garden, raising young children, there comes a time when our body needs attention.
I am passionate about providing the best treatment outcomes possible and working towards clients’ long term health goals. I am part of a multidisciplinary clinic where we work collaboratively to get the best results for our clients.
I use a number of postural and functional movement tests to establish a starting point, which can also be used at the end of treatments to see how well the body has responded. These help guide me to choose the best possible treatment plan and follow up treatments.
So whether you want to relax, unwind & relieve tension, reduce pain, rebalance or improve mobility I will be able to use a combination of soft tissue massage, stretching, strength exercises and taping to reach your goals.
Benefits of massage:
Reduced pain
Improved functional movement (mobility around joints)
Move more freely
Improved overall well being
Help reduce the risk of injury
Alleviates soreness
Reduce recovery time
Enhance circulation
Decrease blood pressure
Background
I was an elite gymnast competing for over 14 years representing Australia at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and 1992 Olympic Games. I have an interest in most sports, walking, animals, camping and the outdoors. With a background in Human Movement, teaching PE for over 15 years and a gymnastics coach I have a greater understanding of the body and movement and the stresses that occur in our bodies.

Lisa has an incredible knowledge of body mechanics.
Lisa has an incredible knowledge of body mechanics. I look forward to her massage therapy each time I visit. I have had hundred’s of massages in the past but feel that Lisa is the best at identifying the problem areas, and then working to fix them. I am a full-time nurse, on my feet all day, and see my time with Lisa as an investment, not only in my health and well-being, but in the longevity of my career. I highly recommend her.

IC Sports Therapies

I have been doing a Mums and Bubs Pilates class with Colin and it is great! We have fun and exercise at the same time, something I would never have believed possible until I started this class. My almost 3 year old plays happily while my almost 1 year old stays in the class with me. Colin has magic baby skills and can often be seen holding my little girl after lulling her to sleep while instructing us mums. He tailors the classes perfectly depending on the mood of the small people and his happy and relaxed approach makes it a stress-free time for everyone. I would highly recommend this class for anyone who wants a full body work out or for anyone who has a small child and hasn’t found a class that suits their nap times 🙂
Colin left IC Sports Therapies at the end of September 2018, so his Pilates and Personal Training services are no longer available.
